A little more about me

In 2024, I decided it was time focus on fulfilling a lifetime dream of writing, illustrating, and publishing my own books. Twenty-three years of teaching, with fifteen of those years doing so in a preschool I own and run, have cultivated within me a devotion to the wonder of childhood and a love for empowering children.

I grew-up in Fort Collins, CO, where I attended college at Colorado State University, earning my degree in human development with a focus in early childhood development. I continue to call Colorado my home, where I live with my family near the mountains. Outside of my professional life, I relish every moment I am able to spend with my two incredible daughters and wonderful husband. On any given day, you may find me gathering bouquets from my backyard wildflower garden while fluffy chickens peck the grass near my bare feet. God has blessed us with a fulfilling, peaceful life.

Remaking ordinary things into treasures is a big inspiration for my first book, Marker and Lid. I welcome the opportunity for in-person and virtual school or library visits to share my passion for bringing out the light within every person.
